Thedealer changed the coolant temperature sensor G62 which is back left of the engine above the CAT (not the best design in a hot area!). This made the gauge itself work better (sometimes before it stopped working). The thermostat unit described above was then changed which did cure the temperature fluctuation issue.
. #1. Having an issue with my ambient air temp, my car was in a minor accident awhile back and damaged the front clip and core support ect. I replaced the damaged parts without any issues and got everything working properly except the ambient air temp sensor. Didn't worry about it until i realized my A/C didn't work because of it.

a If the AC has Freon and the N280 is turned OFF by G65 sensor: low side pressure is high (60-80) but the high side (RED) is steady at the same pressure as low side (60-80). b. If the AC has Freon and the N280 is turned ON (system is working) by G65 sensor: low side pressure will decrease (30-40) while high side (RED) is increasing above 100-200.

Ifthe engine has sat overnight so the sensor should be at ambient temp, whatever that temp is (in the car location space, not necessarily on the weather report), you should measure the resistance across the sensor pins. In spec is: 5°C, 4443-4970Ω. 15°C, 2923-3235Ω. 25°C ,1978-2167Ω.
